28th Annual Convention

So much of the annual convention takes place together, at the hotel. Friday night is your chance to go out on your own. However, for those who want to continue spending time with new and old Friends, below is an outing organized by your fellow attendees, as well as additional options for you to explore!

★ Our planned activity on Friday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM is at Bowlero Charlotte, a bowling alley with an arcade and various food/drink options.

The cost is $38 for adults and $33 for young people under 21, which includes two hours of bowling, bowling shoes, 20 credits at the arcade, and food – including cheese and pepperoni pizza, chicken tenders, tater tots, and unlimited soda and juice! Adult beverages and other food options are also available for purchase.

If you’d rather venture out on your own, other Friday night options include:

› Museum of Illusions Charlotte, which offers “perspective changing rooms and spellbinding images.” The museum is open until 10:00pm on Friday evenings and is close to the Embassy Suites.

› Pins Mechanical (1.5 miles from the hotel) with duckpin bowling, pinball, and an arcade. Please note that after 9:00 PM there is a curfew of only folks 21 and above.

› Carowinds Amusement Park (13 miles from the hotel) is open until 10:00 PM on Friday evening. Carowinds has a flat fee for admission.

› Frankie’s Fun Park (13 miles from the hotel) has rides and other activities that you pay for individually. For example, mini golf is $10 per person, bumper cars are $7, and bowling lanes are by the hour. Frankie’s is open until midnight on Friday evenings.
