A Summary of the October Virtual Teen Group

The October Teens Group chatted about all things stuttering awareness, start of the school year, recent headlines, and being comfortable with our own stutters. Many first timers came by and connected with everyone on social media – lifelong FRIENDShips starting here! While talking about stuttering awareness, one teen shouted, “International Stuttering Awareness Day is a cool day” before continuing to say that teenage years are the most important time to come to accept your stutter. Everyone was in a consensus agreement! Here’s what our teens shared:

“When I let my teacher and other people in my class know I stutter, it helps me feel so comfortable speaking while stuttering.”

“Its best to be comfortable with your stuttering so when people have not-so-great reactions, you are able to respond calmly and start making them aware and educate them.”
